"Salem" Overhaul close to completion

The overhaul of the American "Forney" No.6 "Salem" is nearing completion, however several other problems have been discovered. The steam tests have been carried out, and "Salem" was attached to one of today's Service Trains double headed with Sir Davy Armstrong. The problems include cylendar, boiler and regulator problems. Therefore, the locomotive will return to Rhos Helyg Locomotive works to have these repairs carried out.

Please be aware that we are operating our Firework Special's on Saturday 14th November. These should be hauled by Darjeeling "B" Class No.5 "Maid of Kent", due to return to traffic on Friday 12th November. A roster to reflect her return will be published on the blog within the next few days. The K&SBLR Management Staff will be talking about the latest developments and future events in the upcoming "Railway's Live" broadcast.
